Q: Where are you located?
A: Modern Love Photography is a boutique luxury studio located in beautiful Marin County in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Q: Do you provide wardrobe?
A: Depending on your chosen collection, Modern Love does offer use of our extensive wardrobe for your session. With that being said, we encourage all of our clients to make their session personal and incorporate pieces that embody their style and desired look. In your pre-production consultation we will work with you to create a style board, complete with looks and links for you to shop.
Q: May I do my own makeup?
A: No, the application of makeup for photography is an art, and our Modern Love styling team is made up of highly skilled licensed professional artists. Our stylist services are included in all of our collections.
Q: How long before I am able to view images from my session?
A: We will schedule a private viewing and ordering session within four to six weeks of your session.
Q: How long does it take to get product from my session? I need it fast!
A: Our standard turn around time for viewing is four to six weeks and delivery of ordered product is an additional four weeks. If you need product or images sooner please inquire about our “rush service”.
Q: Will my images be retouched?
A: Every image chosen and delivered has undergone the highest degree of beauty editing and will be a work of art. While we have no interest in creating overly edited images that no longer look like you, we want to edit all of your images to make you look your very best! Your images will receive the same care and edits similar to any editorial magazine quality session.
Q: Who will be present at my session?
A: Modern Love Beauty and Boudoir is an all female team. Your team for the day can include hair and makeup artists, set stylists and of course, principal photographer Denise Birdsong.
Q: May I bring a friend to my session?
A: You may bring a friend provided you are both booked for a session. We have found that having a friend or family member on set who is not also having a Modern Love session can make you uncomfortable. We know, it sounds counter-intuitive, but trust us, do you really want to make you “sexy face” in front of your friend?
Q: All of the women on your website look like models, I am not a size two or twenty years old, do you shoot women like me?
A: Just about every women you see on our website was a client asking the same question you are asking now! We shoot women of ALL ages, shapes and sizes. We specialize in making ALL women look and feel their most beautiful. The women on our website are not all models, are not all in their twenties, are not all size 10 or smaller. We make every women LOOK like they are model though…
Q: I would love to do a session with Modern Love, but I want my images to be private. Do you publish all of the images you shoot?
A: 90% of what we shoot is never seen by anyone other than the intended client. We have a very strict privacy policy we adhere to and only publish images that clients have signed a release and waiver for. With that being said, WE LOVE featuring our clients in our galleries, it is how we create our portfolio and we would LOVE to feature your session if you would like us to. We like to show diversity in beauty and would love to feature sessions of women, all ages, shapes and sizes!
